Muse Muggers* weekly idea
Your Monday Morning MuseMuggers Prompt
Muse Mugger's idea #108
This will be MuseMuggers third November. Before, I always shut the community down during NaNoWriMo, so we could all concentrate on our novels. However, this year, only about 1/2 of musemugger members are doing nano.
So, here's the deal. People doing nano can use the prompts to help them with their stories. Use as many or few as you want. People not doing nano, SAME THING! you can do your usual 1 story a week, or maybe try for 1 story a day. Or any combination! Go for it!
The photos are very genre specific, so if you can't use one, just move on to the next. Heavy fantasy, science fiction and lit influence.
Sight
(Warnings: 11, 12, 18 are HUGE, and 27 slightly gross)

You can see ALL THE PHOTOS on one page. DO NOT OPEN if you have dial up.
Sound
I couldn't find any online sources for random songs/sounds. So the prompt for sound is as such:
Using your favourite method of music, randomly pull up songs and use them.
Stop for a moment on your daily commute. Close your eyes. Listen. What do you hear? Close? Far away? That's the prompt.
Listen to the TV from another room, without seeing the picture. What does it make you think of? That's the prompt.
Listen (discreetly) in on a phone conversation of a stranger. What are they talking about? That's the prompt.
Touch
Close your eyes and reach into your closet. Grab something. What's it feel like? Think of several words. That's the prompt.
When you're outside, touch as many different trees as you can. How do they feel? That's the prompt.
Cut a flower and brush it along your skin. How does it feel? That's the prompt.
Touch any object you've always lusted after (get your minds out of the gutters. Or not heh), that you've never touched before. What does it make you feel? That's the prompt.
Taste
Watch the face of someone who is eating something they don't like. Describe it.
Eat something bitter/sweet/ect.
In very, very great detail, have your character cook a meal and eat it, describing each taste/texture.
Have your character lick something unexpectedly salty. *innocent - or not*
Scent
Go outside, close your eyes, and breath deeply. What do you smell? That's the prompt.
The next person you pass wearing perfume. What's the scent? That's the prompt.
On your daily commute, stop somewhere unexpected and close your eyes and breath. What do you smell?
Enter a very large store. Walking through the various departments, close your eyes and smell.
Memory
Remember a fun time you had with someone. Write about it.
Remember the smell of your grandmother's cookies baking.
Make a list of things you would like to have done by the time you are 20/30/50/90. Chose one, and put your character there.
Take a bad memory and stick your character in the staring role.
Imagine what you would do if you were a ghost. Write it into your story.
All prompts can be mixed and matched, one or all, singular or multiple.
This will be the ONLY November prompt. There are a total of 83 prompts, which can be combined in any way you want. You can use them as a daily prompt, a weekly prompt, or whenever you need a leg up.
The prompts are for everyone. If you're not doing nano, you can still use these prompts and post to . Remember, with 1/2 the people off doing nano, you need to be strongly active in the forums, so that the community doesn't turn into a desert.
Since I'm not closing the community this year, it will be A REQUIREMENT for nano participants to post SOMETHING during the month, to count towards their community participation. It can be a snip, a chapter, whatever, but if you don't post something, it will be counted as 'not posting' during the month of November.
