I buy one-time rights for the first six months after publication, and web archiving rights for as long after that as the author is willing to allow. At any time after the first six months are complete, you may request that I remove your content from my site. Unless you make such a request, I will assume that I have your permission to continue archiving the content.
READING PERIODS & RESPONSE TIMES
After the June 1, 2004 issue, Neverary will be published twice a year, in the months of April and October. The reading periods for each issue will be January 1 - February 28 and July 1-August 31 (with the exception of articles and queries, which I will read year round.)
I will make every effort to respond as promptly as I always have to your submissions. In general, if you have not received a response by either March 7th or September 7th, you should query.
NOTE: Submissions in between reading periods will be deleted unread.
SUBMISSION FORMAT
The best way to submit your flash fiction and poetry is by simply inserting it into a plain text email.
Stories and articles I would prefer to see submitted as RTF attachments, and using something approaching standard manuscript format. Please send only one story at a time. Query before sending multiple articles.
Include a short bio that you'd like me to use if I buy your piece, and any link or email address you'd like me to use with it.
Reprints are welcome, so long as you let me know that it is a reprint, and from where. For reprints, include a statement in your email verifying that the web rights are yours to sell.
Your subject line should look something like one of these:
*
Subj: FIC: [Your Title][approx word count]
*
Subj: NF: [Your Title] [approx word count]
*
Subj: FLASH: [Your Title] [Up to 3 Titles per submission]
*
Subj: POEM: [Up to 3 Titles per submission]
MISCELLANEOUS
Generally, I will only do a light edit for grammar, spelling, and clarity. Occasionally, I will want to publish a piece only after it gets a little more TLC. I will get the author's okay before publishing a submitted piece with any significant alterations.
Every nonfiction article, story, and poem will have the author's copyright notice posted below his or her bio.
I reserve the right to remove links if the linked site is changed to something offensive or otherwise inappropriate.
I pay authors via Paypal.
